This kitchen remodel began with just a simple desire for a new sink… Our clients live in a beautiful brownstone town-home, located in the middle of the Heights’ historic district. The existing kitchen sink did not serve their needs. They investigated new sink options and discovered sink replacement would require counter top and back-splash replacement as well. So, they thought, “Well, we might as well upgrade the cabinets while we’re at it.” All of sudden, this project turned into a full-blown Houston Heights remodel!
Without question, these clients knew a highly skilled contractor must be involved with this kitchen remodel. The craftsmanship quality had to match or exceed the rest of the home. The husband listened to the advice of Tom Tynan on HomeShow Radio and called TriFection. During the initial consultation, they were impressed with our creative ideas and professionalism. New Kitchen Design Achieved Balance for This Houston Heights Remodel
As the wise Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid movie once said, you must have balance in life. A kitchen remodel is no different. The appearance and functionality should have balance. The TriFection team helped our clients in the selection and placement of modern kitchen appliances. First, we installed a new beverage cooler to the right of the sink, providing a balanced look with the dishwasher. Next, the new microwave would be installed under the countertop. This change preserved countertop space and balanced the two ends of the kitchen. The new gas range would remain part of the island, opposite the sink. The refrigerator conveniently would stay next to the pantry cabinet.
A Modern Kitchen Brightens the Home
Our master carpenters refaced the perimeter kitchen cabinets with solid wood fronts, including some necessary cabinet modifications. We also built a new custom island cabinet, which gave our clients a greatly improved look, storage, and accessibility. The kitchen perimeter cabinets featured Pure White as the paint color while we adorned the island with a contrasting Obsidian. This island is a real attention grabber when you enter the room.
Our clients chose a light-colored Cambria Brittanicca quartz with gray swirls for the countertop. This served as a huge change from the previous Black Galaxy granite. The backsplash selection was 3″ x 6″ Ultra White tile in a herringbone pattern. As a result, the new kitchen is so much brighter and modern with a larger feel.
One Good Kitchen Deserves Another… Houston Heights Kitchen Remodel
Finally, our clients were so pleased with TriFection that they immediately enlisted us to remodel a second kitchen in their home. We’ll be installing the removed Black Galaxy granite from the first kitchen as a replacement for existing laminate countertops. There’s no time to waste as Christmas guests will be arriving soon. These folks fully trust TriFection will deliver the second kitchen just as reliably as Santa Claus!
