A couple in the Heights contacted us about remodeling their traditional kitchen to better reflect their more contemporary taste. They didn’t want to overhaul their space; they just wanted to make a few key changes with the right contractor to update the overall look. After seeing TriFection’s A+ rating and numerous Awards for Excellence from the Better Business Bureau, they gave us a call. With significant experience remodeling in the Heights and a knowledgeable selections team, TriFection was the ideal fit for this couple’s project. Our professionals could help them choose and install the right mix of quality materials for a contemporary feel that still embraced irreplaceable traditional elements.
Transitional style takes shape
Our clients planned to keep their original cabinetry in the kitchen, so we began by carefully removing the granite counters, backsplash and flooring, while setting aside and protecting appliances that would be reused. We installed a lighter, brighter countertop to contrast the dark wood cabinetry and freshen up the space. Our clients selected white Statuarietto countertops from Omni, fabricated with a modern, straight-polished edge. We also replaced the outdated tile backsplash with a contemporary glass backsplash of white Pure Snow Glass 6”x24” field tile. Our skilled tile setters installed a Jolly Light Grey trim tile for a smooth transition between dark and light elements.
A taste for technology
For increased functionality, our clients added some modern technology features, including a smart touch faucet, remote-controlled color-changing LED cabinet lighting, and USB ports in the backsplash to provide easy battery-charging capability for smart phones, tablets and other electronic devices. We then reinstalled their original range and microwave.
Powder bath bonus
Since we would already be working in a nearby room, our clients opted to update their adjacent powder bath at the same time. TriFection laid offset Lounge 14 Color Sidecar 12”x24” tile for new bathroom flooring, and we updated the room with Kohler plumbing fixtures, including the Archer undermount sink, faucet, and toilet. We also installed Kohler Margaux accessories in a vibrant polished nickel finish to finish the room.
Happy Heights homeowners
Our clients are quite pleased with their updated kitchen and powder bathroom. The rooms reflect their personal contemporary style while still taking full advantage of the original, traditional elements that functioned well and didn’t need to be replaced. TriFection served as a good partner in this remodeling efforts by listening carefully to our clients’ objectives, respecting their budget and working together to bring out the very best in their charming home.
