Relaxing and refreshing weren’t the words that came to mind when our Katy clients looked at their master bathroom. Each morning they faced an uncomfortably narrow shower, cut off from natural light by a sharp wall. Bland builder-grade materials and dated gold fixtures failed to inspire. Not to mention, in a house that lacked storage, it was a shame that their bathroom didn’t make better use of available space. After reading about TriFection in The Home Mag, our clients gave us a call. Armed with pictures and ideas, they needed a turn-key contractor who focused on the clients’ wishes and had experience handling structural changes to a home. They chose a different contractor for their kitchen remodel a few years ago, but this time they wanted something better. TriFection’s knowledgeable talent and excellent client service quickly won them over. They were glad they chose us for their Katy master bathroom remodel.
Custom Cabinets for Katy Couple
We worked with our clients to create a new bathroom design that focused on shower space and eliminated a rarely used jetted tub. After removing a wall and resizing a window, which involved some exterior brick work, our clients would get a more spacious shower that allowed for a “drying off” bench seat outside the shower and more natural light. We also planned to increase storage with extra cabinetry.
TriFection completely cleared the bathroom. We installed a large white window with Maisson Rouge brick to match the existing exterior. We built and put in a new beech vanity with cove raised paneling and a Mission Oak stain. Amerock drawer pulls in an antique silver finish popped against the dark color. To increase our clients’ storage options, TriFection custom built additional matching cabinetry, including a new tower cabinet for the vanity and an over-the-toilet cabinet for the water closet. Our clients selected new countertops of Moon White granite from Omni Surfaces, fabricated with a waterfall edge.
Natural Selections for Shower
In the new shower space, TriFection professionals placed 12×24 Shaw Classico Light Grey porcelain tile on the walls and then continued the tile to form a matching bathroom wainscot in a broken joint pattern. We covered the shower floors with River Rocks Savanah, a tumbled listel from Interceramic, and placed Moon White granite on the bench. The high-end, natural materials gave a spa-inspired feel. In the rest of the bathroom, we tiled with new floors and baseboards of Veranda P500 Steel porcelain tile placed an offset design.
TriFection installed two Mirabelle undermount sinks with widespread, vibrant brushed nickel Kohler faucets at the vanity, and we installed Kohler fixtures from Ferguson in a matching finish in the shower, including a handheld unit. Clear frameless glass with brushed nickel hardware allowed us to enclose the space while still letting plenty of natural light into the area. We also installed Park Harbor vanity lights, a Kichler light in the water closet, and energy-efficient LEDs to brighten the room. Kohler and Moen accessories and fresh paint tied the final design together. We painted Minute Mauve on the walls, Bright White on ceilings and Pure White on the trims.
