With one child in college and another nearly there, our clients in the Willowbend area decided it was time to focus on updating their kitchen and adjacent rooms. They wanted to increase their home’s functionality and achieve a more contemporary style. TriFection previously remodeled their master bathroom. These clients appreciated our top-notch workmanship and service, so they invited us back for this project without hesitation. When faced with some unexpected family matters, they were pleased but not necessarily surprised to learn that TriFection would gladly adjust the project schedule to accommodate their needs. At TriFection, we value the long-term client relationship far more than the transaction.
Counter space in a new place
In close consultation with our clients, we redesigned their kitchen for better flow. We eliminated an island and extended a countertop to add a peninsula that would provide significantly more countertop and cabinet storage space. TriFection built and installed new Shaker style, solid beech wood cabinetry, featuring Sherwin Williams Pure White paint and brushed nickel Berenson doorknobs and drawer pulls. We topped the cabinets with Colonial White granite from Midwest, fabricated with a beveled edge and a spacious 12” overhang in one area. With the newly extended countertop design, our clients could now easily allow six to eight guests to pull up a seat in their kitchen. TriFection installed a statement backsplash made completely of Fusion Cape Cod random brick glass and natural stone mixed mosaic tile from Interceramic. We also laid 12×24” Sidewalk Five Square tile, a gray porcelain, in an offset design on the kitchen floor and into the nearby open dining area, powder bath and laundry room.
Sleek stainless steel appliances
Our clients purchased Kenmore Elite appliances, including a built-in oven and microwave, vent hood, cooktop, dishwasher and fridge. They also added a built-in EdgeStar wine and beverage cooler. TriFection installed a Kraus stainless steel double bowl farmhouse sink and Moen pull-down faucet. We significantly improved the lighting with new LED recessed can lights, undercabinet lights and a new energy-efficient window above the kitchen sink.
Additional design changes that resonate
In the laundry room near the kitchen, we helped organize the space with new cabinetry for storage and a new brushed nickel Hinkley flush-mount ceiling light from Ferguson. Our carpenters hung a classic sliding barn door to stylishly close off the area from the rest of the open kitchen and dining floorplan. A small powder bath off of the dining room received upgrades as well.
We installed a new Kohler toilet, an American Standard pedestal sink with a Moen brushed nickel faucet, and a brushed nickel Hinkley bathroom light from Ferguson. Moen accessories finished the space. In the dining room, we added a ceiling fan for better air circulation. Fresh Sherwin Williams paint in a complementary gray color scheme helped tie the entire area together. Our professional paint crew applied Functional Gray in the kitchen, dining, and laundry area as well as Requisite Gray in the powder bathroom. Pure White trims and Bright White on the ceilings completed the contemporary look.
Completely contemporary
Our clients couldn’t be happier with the updates to their home. Their project may have taken a little longer due to their requested delay, but the results were well worth the wait. We stayed in regular contact and launched the project when the time was right. We’re very happy to see our clients ready to enjoy their new space!
